Figuring out your Birthing Plan

So, you just found out that you're pregnant... What happens next? The process need not be as daunting as it may seem. In fact, we hope that it would be one of your most beautiful pregnancy journeys yet. We would love, more than anything, to be a part of your journey!

What are your next steps? We're so glad you asked!

Antenatal Care (Initial Visit) - Ideally this visit would be at 8 weeks pregnancy. This may be a long process and the consultation lasts about 2 hours. Yes, THAT long! But we don't want to miss a thing.
Antenatal Care (Follow-Up Visits) - Generally, you would have 6 follow-up visits prior to giving birth, however, this may change if necessary. This is to constantly monitor the wellness of mommy and baby throughout the pregnancy.
Delivery
Postnatal Care - This is your visit, 3 days after delivering your baby. Both mom and baby get a full checkup.

Birth Packages

Birth Package 1: R21 580

Package 1 is all inclusive of:

Advanced Midwife
6 hour stay after delivery
Actual labour and birth
Operational costs
Road to Health child immunisation book

A second advanced midwife is only charged in case of an emergency and if necessary. This will be discussed with you in further detail when you consult at our clinic.

Birth Package 2: R23 000

Birth Package 1: R21 580

Package 2 is all inclusive of:

Advanced Midwife
Larger room with more amenities
6 hour stay after delivery
Actual labour and birth
Operational costs
Road to Health child immunisation book

A second advanced midwife is only charged in case of an emergency and if necessary. This will be discussed with you in further detail when you consult at our clinic.

Do you do C-Sections?

Unfortunately, we do not as we are a midwife-led, natural birth facility.

How does your Payment Plan for a Delivery work?

We are a cash based facility. We require a non-refundable deposit of R5 000 by 20 weeks pregnancy, and the balance at 36 weeks pregnancy.

We also accept medical, but we always advise that you contact your medical aid provider to confirm whether they will cover delivery by midwife.

Is it okay to start my pregnancy journey at a later stage?

While not advised, this is possible. However, we will always point our clients towards starting their pregnancy journey as soon as 8 weeks. This helps us get to know you and your personal needs, prepare you accordingly for the birth and to provide as much information as we possibly can in the months leading up to the birth.

Do you do Ultrasound Scans?

We only do basic scans during your consultation without a printout. However, if you would like a printout, We can refer you to a sonographer or you are welcome to research where you would like to have your ultrasound done.

Can I do Antenatal Care elsewhere, but deliver my baby at your clinic?

Yes, you are more than welcome to do so, should you be coming from a Government Clinic. We would simply ask that you visit us for your last 2 consultations. Clients doing Antenatal Care at a private facility are advised to see us as soon as possible.

How much can I budget, overall, for my antenatal visits?

x1 Initial Antenatal Visit - R1 370

x10 Follow Up Visits (including additional blood tests at 32 weeks) - R6 777

x1 Postnatal Visit- R630
